🌸 Welcome to Sandbar Schoolhouse!
About Me

I’m Jamie Ostrow, a certified teacher and mom who believes children flourish when learning feels calm, meaningful, and personal. I first created Sandbar Schoolhouse for my own children after seeing how much they thrived in smaller, gentler learning spaces.
Today, I’m grateful to offer that same experience to other families. Sandbar Schoolhouse is a peaceful, supportive environment where K–6 learners grow through individualized instruction, hands-on activities, and a slower, more intentional pace.
Along with my academic pod, I also offer one-on-one tutoring and custom homeschool plans for families needing support beyond the classroom.

🌸 Why Families Love Sandbar Schoolhouse
A calm little island to learn and grow
Many children struggle in fast-paced, crowded classrooms. At Sandbar Schoolhouse, learning happens in a calm, nurturing space where students feel safe, supported, and understood.
With a class size capped at 8 students, your child receives meaningful instruction, personalized pacing, and 1:1 time every single week.
Our Pod focuses on reading, writing, and math through guided lessons, small groups, and daily practice, all without the overwhelm, noise, or stress of large-class environments.
We bring learning to life with STEM builds, art projects, ocean science, and long-form themed activities. Kids get to explore, create, and dive deep into topics they love.
Our studio is designed intentionally, bright, organized, calm, and distraction-free. Children can breathe, think clearly, and enjoy their learning.
With over a decade of experience and a mother’s heart, I honor your family’s values, learning goals, and your child’s unique needs. You will always know your child is safe, cared for, and treated with respect.
I believe childhood should feel peaceful, not rushed. Our schedule, routines, and approach support family life, not take over it.
Sandbar Schoolhouse is an approved Step Up provider. Families may use scholarship funds toward tuition and annual fees.
